SAFETY RESOURCES & NEWS
At Thalle, safety is more than a requirement—it is a core value that guides every decision we make. Our Safety First! approach is built on comprehensive training, proactive awareness, and empowering every team member to recognize and prevent potential hazards before they occur. Through ongoing education, hands-on programs, and a culture that encourages accountability at every level, we equip our workforce to respond confidently and effectively when challenges arise. The examples below highlight recent milestones and success stories that demonstrate the strength of our safety commitment and the results it delivers.
NEW PROGRAM LAUNCHED:
Thalle Construction’s Housekeeping Excellence Award—launched in 2025 at the Kentucky Lock Monoliths project—showcases how clean, organized work areas directly strengthen jobsite safety. Created by Construction Manager Stephen Butwell, the program promotes ownership, teamwork, and healthy competition as foremen inspect cross-trade areas using a detailed 32-point checklist. Scores are tracked weekly, with the top-performing crew earning the Housekeeping Excellence flag and a team meal each month. The initiative has delivered immediate results, keeping work zones inspection-ready and helping reinforce the proactive safety culture that contributed to more than two million man-hours without a lost-time incident. TRENCHING SAFETY
At the 22-379 Brushy Creek Regional Utility Authority Phase 2 Raw Water Delivery System project, Thalle recognized crews for their strong commitment to jobsite safety with a safety luncheon sponsored by Sunstate Trench Safety Rentals.
